President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, along with staff members, held a virtual limited meeting earlier today to discuss the implementation of national strategic projects (PSN) for national economic impact recovery following the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the meeting, Jokowi requested to prioritize the acceleration of projects that would directly contribute to strengthening the people’s economy after its fall due to the pandemic. Of the 245 PSN proposals, 89 were approved during the meeting.
Several projects to be prioritized, according to the President, include the land certification program, legalization of transmigration land, agrarian reform, forestry and social programs, and the rejuvenation of community plantations.

According to Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry secretary-general Dwi Wahyu Atmaji, all civil servants (ASN) would return to work at their offices starting June 5, 2020.
Civil workers will be required to adapt to the “new normal” policy amid the pandemic, after previously being asked to work from home by the government. The work-from-home policy was meant to end today but was extended until June 5.
However, Dwi stressed that this would not apply to regions implementing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB), emphasizing that all state workers serving under these regions should still follow the health protocols imposed by each respective regional government.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has reminded his Cabinet not to overlook the threat of other epidemics in the community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
He stated that the handling of several disease outbreaks, including tuberculosis, malaria, dengue fever, growth stunting and HIV/AIDS, was included in the national strategic agenda. This was mentioned during a limited meeting on the national strategic projects’ evaluation.
As of April, 254 people have died from dengue fever, while deaths from tuberculosis are at up to 67,000 people per year in Indonesia alone. The prevalence of stunting in nIndonesia currently sits at 27.67 percent, which still exceeds the recommended figure of 20 percent set by the World Health Organization.

President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo said he has received proposals for 245 new projects to be included on the list of National Strategic Projects (PSN). Jokowi instructed his ministers to evaluate the proposals and give priority to projects that have direct economic impacts postCOVID-19 pandemic. Committee for Acceleration of Priority Infrastructure Delivery (KPPIP) head Wahyu Utomo said the proposal would be discussed with Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto.
ADB lends $300 million for geothermal electricity generation

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a US$300 million loan for state-owned geothermal energy company PT Geo Dipa Energi (DGE) to expand its geothermal power generation capacity. The company will use the loan to increase its generation capacity by 110 megawatts for its largest electricity grid in Java by constructing and commissioning two geothermal plants in Dieng in Central Java and Patuha in West Java. GDE president director Riki Ibrahim said the project was a national strategic project and would help reduce the country’s carbon dioxide emissions by more than 700,000 tons per year.
Ministry proposes $69m stimulus for fisheries, aquaculture

The Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry has proposed a Rp 1.02 trillion (US$69 million) stimulus package to aid small-scale fishers and aquaculture farmers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The stimulus package, which was proposed by Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Edhy Prabowo during a limited Cabinet meeting with President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, will provide Rp 413.27 billion in funds for fishers and Rp 406.55 billion to aid to aquaculture farmers. It also includes Rp 36.07 billion for fish processors and marketeers, Rp 54.1 billion for salt farmers, Rp 106.48 billion to strengthen poaching surveillance and Rp 8 billion for internal audits.
Jakarta administration appoints new president director for Transjakarta

Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has officially appointed Sardjono Jhony Tjikrokusumo as the president director of city-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta). Previously, Sardono held the position of president director at state-owned airline Merpati Nusantara Airlines and state-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I. “The decision was signed on May 27,” Jakarta secretary for city-owned enterprises development Riyadi said.
